My name is Shola Akinyemi. I am of Nigerian descent. I have a B.sc in Economics from the Ekiti State University, Nigeria and a M.Sc. in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Essex, United Kingdom.
I am a social entrepreneur, a teacher and a writer. I am passionate about people and enterprise development. I have spent the last 12 years of my life nurturing, raising and mentoring young people in different parts of the world.
My newly published book titled “Bursting Our Bubbles” (BOB) is an hybrid genre, an infusion of poetry and the wisdom literature, I have also used doses of metaphors, anecdotes and parables to deliver the message in the book, which makes it an interesting read.
I have had a couple of awards and recognitions including being nominated and selected as a Young African leader by the United states department of states in the Mandela Washington Fellowship (2014 Cohort).
Even though I am not so good at philosophy, I would say that a guiding principle which is at the core of all that I do is this: “a candle loses nothing by lighting other candles”.
Love and light!
